TEXTiles at The Station, Richmond

Excitement is building about Textilia's exhibition of new work at The Station, Richmond - opening Saturday 21st May 2016

TEXTiles

As we finish and frame our new pieces ready for display we can now share with you a few sneak peaks which we hope will intrigue and inspire you to come along between the 21st May to the 1st June. We've all interpreted the theme in our own personal ways finding inspiration in aspects of TEXTiles from fonts and typefaces to the colours and patterns of tiles, from myths and legends to storytelling.

All in the Name 2 - Margaret Laycock
At the Court of the Blue Horse - Jo Valentine
Tile Variations 2 - Catherine Slater

Visitors are in for a treat with everything from hand and machine stitch, felt, appliqué, dyeing and resists, print and manipulation techniques with a good range of abstract, figurative and decorative pieces. We are also delighted to be showing work by some of the new members we have welcomed in 2015 and 2016 as this will be our first chance to show as an expanded group - catch up with information about all our members by clicking on the 'Members Galleries' tab at the top of the page.

The work in the exhibition is varied and fascinating and we hope will delight existing fans of textile art and inspire new ones. Different members of the group will be on hand on each day of the exhibition to answer all your questions and it's a lovely venue for a trip out so do pop along and see us.
